ThetaGPU will become an independent resource in Q1 of CY2024. This means that the hardware that makes up ThetaGPU will be extracted from Theta and the system will come back with a new name - "Sophia". ThetaGPU as it exists today will go away at the end of CY2023 and scheduling will be halted on 12/31/23. Sophia will have two new primary purposes - to run JupyterHub instances and to train Large Language Models. It will have PBSPro as the resource scheduler system.
