Polaris will be ALCF’s Visualization Resource on January 1, 2024

Starting in January 2024, Polaris will be the primary production resource for visualization and analysis. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to move your workflows and codes to Polaris.

The following applications are installed and ready to use on Polaris:

  • ParaView: ParaView is an open-source visualization engine that seamlessly integrates with your existing tools and workflows. For additional information, visit the Kitware website.
  • VisIt: VisIt is an open-source, interactive and scalable visualization, animation, and analysis tool. For more information, see the VisIt project GitHub page.
  • FFmpeg: FFmpeg is a complete solution to record, convert, and stream audio and video. For additional information, see the FFmpeg webpage.
  • ImageMagick: ImageMagick is a free, open-source software suite used for editing and manipulating digital images. For additional information, see the ImageMagick webpage.
