Congratulations on receiving an allocation award!
This guide is designed to help allocation award recipients navigate through the process of getting started with your ALCF award.
This guide walks you through setting up your project, project team, and transferring your project data to your allocated system. It is meant to support you throughout your onboarding process.
Key Terms
As you go through the onboarding process, you will encounter key terms used at ALCF. Please refer to this table for definitions:
Project Terminology
Project Short Name
The assigned, shortened name for your project. This is the name that you'll use to access your project on the systems.
Project Proxies
Project members designated by PIs that are authorized to add or renew project members on your behalf.
Allocation System(s) and Allocation Amount
The approved system(s) and amount of your award in node hours. (ex. Aurora, 100,000 hours). "Allocation" and "award" are often used interchangeably.
Approved Quota
The approved amount disk space for your project directory.
File System
The file system where your project directory resides.
Assigned Catalyst
INCITE projects have ALCF staff members that are assigned to the projects who are available to assist the team throughout the duration of the INCITE allocation.
Allocation Start Date
The start date of your award
Allocation End Date
The end date of your award
