Attend an ALCF Getting Started videoconference to learn everything you need to know to get your project up and running on ALCF systems.
Led by ALCF staff, this introductory videoconference will guide users through code building and job submissions, and provide tips for minimizing wait times and effectively backing up data. The videoconference is open to both new and current users.
This year, we are offering two separate sessions. Session A will be focused on Theta and Cooley. Session B will be focused on our Blue Gene/Q systems (Mira, Cetus, Vesta).
For your convenience, the videoconferences are offered multiple times. To maximize your experience, we limit each session to a handful of participants. Virtual videoconference "seats" are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis--register today for your preferred date and time.
Session A: Theta, Cooley
Topics include system overviews; memory modes; OS and filesystems; environment settings; compilers; tools; job scripts; queues; and hands-on exercises
Session B: Blue Gene/Q Systems (Mira, Cetus, Vesta)
Topics include system overviews; building code; accounts; allocations; storage; transfers; queuing and running; job status and manipulation; common problems; and hands-on exercises
• Step 1: REQUEST an ALCF user account if you don't already have one. Once your account is established, you'll receive a CRYPTOcard token to access our resources during the hands-on sessions of this training. Because setting up your account and shipping your token takes several days, please request your account right away.
• Step 2: REGISTER for a session that fits your schedule today!
