Future States Series: Why High Energy Physics at Argonne?

Harry Weerts
Seminar

High Energy Physics (HEP) at Argonne studies the properties of matter at extreme small distances with accelerators and at extreme large distances by surveys of the universe. This is typically done with experiments all over the globe, but not located at Argonne. To develop the instrumentation and accelerators for these experiments and to simulate and analyze data, HEP has formed unique collaborations with other disciplines at Argonne. Weerts will describe how this multi-disciplinary approach at Argonne connects different parts of the laboratory and how each benefits from this collaboration.
