The video game industry is facing many of the same problems that that plagued the recorded music industry a decade ago.  Games, like most other pieces of content, are easily encoded into bits and distributed digitally at ever decreasing price points.  How will the large companies in the industry react to these fundamental pressures on its business model?  Come learn about one of the big bets Electronic Arts, the 2nd largest game publisher in the world, is making to adapt to the next generation of gamers.

In this talk we will discuss the EA Digital Platform (EADP), the underlying operating system for EA Games of the future.  We will go through the major components of EADP and discuss some of the unique technical problems facing an industry in transition.

Joe Bose has been in engineering and product development roles in the video game industry for over a dozen years.  In that time he has worked at the forefront of digital gaming platforms (mobile, social, online) for both successful start-ups and larger established companies. He has a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and a MS in Computer Science from the CSPP program.

Vincent Chevalier is Manager in the Global Analytics team. His role consists in turning data into actionable insights at EA, and focus on improving marketing initiative profitability. He graduated from EDHEC in France and has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
