The first Blue Gene Consortium Blue Gene/Q Summit will focus on such topics as:
- Science on BG (Overview of INCITE awards on BG, Early Applications on BG/Q)
- BG/Q Programming Primer – Lessons learned
- Ask the Expert Session
- Building community through the Blue Gene Consortium
For those interested in trying their codes on BG/Q but who don’t have access to a system yet, the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) is offering access to the BG/Q Test & Development system for preliminary investigations. The summit will be an opportunity to follow up on the preliminary investigations and learn from others in the community. Visit http://www.bgconsortium.org/events/blue-geneq-summit for details on how to apply for time and support.
For those already familiar with Blue Gene and seeking a platform for big science, the U.S. Department of Energy's INCITE program provides awards of time on Mira, the 10-petaflops Blue Gene/Q system at the ALCF, through a yearly process. More details on the INCITE awards and process can be found at http://www.alcf.anl.gov/incite2013. Time is also available through the ASCR Leadership Computing Challenge and the Director’s Discretionary program (http://www.alcf.anl.gov/programs).
