Benoit Côté is a software developer for the Advanced Integration Group at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. His current role is to design and develop data service architectures and algorithms in order to support scientific applications.
Benoit has a scientific background in the area of nuclear astrophysics. His research focused on galaxy evolution and on the cosmic origin of the elements. Throughout his postdoctoral years, he developed a series of open-source codes to facilitate research within the community, and to build bridges between nuclear physics, astrophysics and cosmology.
Prior to joining the Argonne team, Benoit held research positions at the University of Victoria (Canada), the Konkoly Observatory (Hungary), and Michigan State University, and was an active member of the International Research Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA), the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics (JINA-CEE), and the Nucleosynthesis Grid (NuGrid) collaboration.
