AERIS Earth systems model pushes AI for science to new heights

Built and trained on ALCF’s Aurora supercomputer, AERIS, a billion-parameter Earth system model, produced stable forecasts on seasonal scales to 90 days. The team’s work is a finalist for the prestigious Gordon Bell Special Prize for Climate Modeling.
