Supercomputing 15: Bigger Changes on the Horizon

Although it appears that high-performance computing is in a bit of a lull, it is a market poised for some big changes in the year to come. Intel and Cray are building a new machine called the Aurora based on the forthcoming Knights Hill Intel Xeon Phi processors for The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (part of Argonne National Labs), is aiming for 150 petaflops in 2018.
