In this talk, optimizations for a CMake-based building mechanism for vl3 will be presented. vl3 is a framework for parallel large-scale data analysis and visualization developed at the Computation Institute of the University of Chicago and the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. The presentation will cover a basic introduction of CMake as well as the experience of learning and utilizing the tool in this particular project. It will also describe some of the highlights that were done in regards to the duties that went along with the internship as well as the process of doing these. Finally, the presentation will be closed with things that are still left to do to improve the optimizations further and closing comments regarding the internship experience itself.
