In this session, NVIDIA will present their profiling tools, Nsight Systems and Nsight Compute, and will discuss how they are used in both HPC and AI use cases. Nsight Systems is NVIDIA’s application/system level profiling tool that allows you to collect a detailed timeline of application activity, including both CPU and GPU workloads. Nsight Compute is NVIDIA’s kernel profiling tool that allows you to collect detailed performance analysis information on individual GPU kernels. A brief overview presentation will be followed by a live demo of the tools in action on the ALCF ThetaGPU system. NVIDIA will also discuss best practices for usage in both HPC and AI use cases.
