Effective Publishing, Pitching and Communications Strategies: “Best Practices for Successful Communications”

Jack Gilbert, Microbial Ecologist, Computing, Environment and Life Sciences
Chris Kramer, Manager – Media Relations, Communications and Public Affairs
Seminar

Program development creates new opportunities and drives new scientific capabilities by accessing new funding and new funding sources, and building new long-term programs and facilities. Having a clear understanding of the funding landscape and knowing and applying best practices allows researchers to both capitalize on current funding trajectories and to develop new ones. Through the CELS Program Development Training Series, Argonne scientists, engineers, and researchers will sharpen and hone their skills in support of the Lab’s mission, and develop the tools and knowledge to innovate and champion leading science and new funding programs. Monthly sessions will introduce participants to the principals of program development, dive into the mechanics of successful proposal development, and outline upcoming strategic opportunities and directions.
