This presentation will provide a technical overview of Distributed Asynchronous Object Store (DAOS), a software-defined object store designed from the ground up for massively distributed Non-Volatile Memory (NVM), including Intel Optane DC persistent memory and Intel Optane DC SSDs. This presentation will also introduce the performance and explain main features of DAOS.

You are encouraged to bring questions for live Q&A with our speaker and IXPUG members!

Speaker: Zhen Liang is a technical architect involved in the architecture, design, and implementation of distributed storage system. He has been in the storage software industry since 2004 and has significant experience and expertise in filesystem, network, high performance computing, and distributed storage system architecture. He is currently the technical architect of Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage (DAOS). DAOS is an open-source software-defined object store designed from the ground up for massively distributed Non-Volatile Memory (NVM), it is the foundation of the Intel exascale storage stack.
