Theta Project Filesystem Nearing Capacity: User Action Needed

The theta-fs0 Lustre filesystem is currently 82 percent full. With increased demand for space on theta-fs0 and nearly all archive/delete processing of expired project data completed, we will need the help and cooperation of the Theta user community to free additional space on the filesystem. There are a few things you can do to assist in this effort: (1) delete Theta project data that are known to be unnecessary or no longer needed; (2) archive the data to HPSS and delete data that may be needed in the future but are not needed now; and (3) compress selected data where appropriate (common compression tools include zip, bzip2, gzip, ‘tar -z’ and ‘tar –Z’. Man pages for these tools are available on the Theta login nodes). Please contact support@alcf.anl.gov with any questions or concerns.
