Announcing Community Data Sharing Using Eagle

Eagle, our recently deployed HPE ClusterStor E1000 storage system, can now be used for sharing scientific data with the broader research community.

Collaborators throughout the scientific community now have the ability to write data to and read scientific data from Globus Guest Collections on the Eagle filesystem using the endpoint alcf#dtn_eagle. The project PI must have an active ALCF account to set up the guest collections and share them with collaborators. This form of data sharing will provide PIs with a natural and convenient storage space for collaborative work.

Eagle is configured with 160 object storage targets (OSTs) and 40 metadata targets (MDTs), and each has a sustained data transfer rate of 650 gigabytes per second.
